The recessed gas meter box (also known as a built-in meter box) is easy to fit and easy to build into the wall. This white cavity meter box is the standard UK fit, designed to fit wall cut-outs of 535 x 365 x 150mm. Once installed, you will have the possibility to house different gas meters (U6/G4) and also regulator assemblies. Built-in meter boxes do not stick out of the wall as much as surface-mounted boxes (only about 60mm), so they are a sleek, flush option for mounting your gas meter.
